NAFA is launching a fleet and mobility industry seminar designed to help professionals comply with U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) guidelines.

The NAFA DOT Compliance Forum, which will be held on Oct. 23, is a targeted, half-day event covering the key DOT needs, where fleets will be challenged, and how technological advancements are affecting compliance.

“The DOT won’t accept ignorance as an excuse.  DOT regulations continually evolve, and these resources can help reduce the chances fleets won’t be fined, audited, or worse,” said Bill Schankel, CAE, Interim CEO of NAFA.

It will include representatives from the DOT, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), and National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), as well as other fleet experts, according to NAFA. Sessions of the forum will include understanding the ELD mandate, managing DOT compliance, marijuana on the road, DOT guidance on autonomous vehicles, and determining if fleets are secure from hacking.

NAFA’s DOT Compliance Forum will be held at the Victor Building in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2019. The event will be moderated by NAFA’s long-time U.S. Legislative Council Pat O’Connor.
